Color Editing

Original Image

This one, I just played around with the levels slightly.

And the last one, I completely took the green, yellow, and cyan out of the image.

Tell me what you think :D
I really have been struggling with this assignment so any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

Possibilities for the 2nd series (Assignment #2)

These were some of the possibilities that I was considering using for Assignment #2. I haven't had a chance to work on either of them yet, so this is the raw image of both of these.

The "Extra" Assignment

In response to the article that we were given in class, I agree with the article because I can see Barret's point in the photograph. Because then it could possibly cause the photograph to represented in a different way than what the artist actually meant for the photograph to portray.
I believe that when the viewer does this, then they are only hurting themselves because they aren't taking the artist's point of view into consideration. I think that a viewer should learn the artists mindset when they were taking the picture that way that any previous misconceptions that they might have are gone and they can soely focus on the picture that is before them, not what they had previously thought a particular point was that an artist was trying to get across or not.
But,on the other hand, I hesitate to agree because, once I think about it more, I believe that when I take pictures, I don't want to have to put a label on something that I am creating because it is a way of expression that shouldn't have to be explained to the other people around it. I believe the art that is before a person should be able to speak for itself and the viewer should be able to form their own opinion about what they think the artist is trying to capture.

Toni Frissell

Toni Frissell

Known for both her fashion and photojournalism images, Toni Frissell is a historic icon of American photography. Born in 1907, Frissell's emphasis was frequently on women in all sorts of environments, in many stages of their lives. Before World War II, her career consisted of shooting for heavy hitting fashion magazines such as Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, but wartime changed her artistic inclinations. One of Frissell's major accomplishments was photographing the war, during which she snapped thousands of candid shots of nurses, orphans, soldiers. After the war, Frissell continued her commercial photographic work, shooting for Sports Illustrated as one of the only female sports photographers of her time.

This was one of the few color images that I found when going through her work.

Assignment #1 - Series of Black and White Images

This is the series of photos that I decided on. I'm not really sure which works best, but I feel like the first photo is the lighest of them all. But by far, my favorite image is the third one.

Assignment 1 "For the love of the game"

These are the edits that I took from the first assignment that we  had to do in this class. On the first image, I didn't really do much except brighten slightly. Then for the second, I played around  with it a bit more, but I am still unsure with that I am doing... Something I hope to learn over the course of this semester. And finally, on the third image, I tried to use a lot of the tools that we talked about in class and change the levels around. If I had to pick a favorite of the three, then I would choose the second image. Let me know your inputs, because like I said, I'm still confused as to what I am doing!
